A birthday poem

I had no idea about too many things
But I thought I knew them so well!
I never knew when I became a stranger
To too many persons forever but Alas!
I had really no idea about that.
If this is not a death I wonder what is death?
I’m trying to convince myself again.
Again and again I’m trying to convince myself I’m dead.
Yet, I’m convinced I’m living and I’ve got to live.
I’ve got to live to witness more death.
I’ve got to die again and again.
I’ve got to live dying.I’ve got to die living.
Every time when you will forget me I’ll die.
Every time I’ll come alive when you will remember me.
This is a blessing and this is a curse.
You too have no idea about too many things.
But you thought you knew them so well!

Fate of a birthday resolution

In less than two months from now
I’ll be crossing my 47 th milestone of age.
This is again a time for me to make
an old birthday resolution again anew.

I contemplate if this year I can
breakthrough the repetition of failures
in keeping my promises made to myself.
I wish this time I don’t forget it later soon.
